Oil-filled voltage transformers

Instrument voltage transformers (ЗНМИ, ЗНОМ, ЗНОМП, НКФ, НКФ-М, НКФА, ЕТН) are designed for the connection to the net from 6 kV up to 500 kV.

For about 30 years, LP “Zaporozhye plant of high-voltage equipment” (ZVA) has been manufacturing instrument inductive voltage transformers for voltage ratings from 6 kV up to 500 kV designed for measurement information signal transfer to the measuring, protection, automation, alarm and control devices.

Instrument voltage transformers’ manufacturing was a longstanding process from industrial engineering and participation in exhibitions, fairs and tenders to the delivery of our products to all large-scale integrated iron-and-steel works and chemical plants, oil-pumping and gas-pumping stations, ore mining facilities, tractive railway sub-stations, heating and nuclear stations, Hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine, CIS countries and far-abroad countries.

Voltage transformers ЗНМИ

Voltage transformers ZNMI

Instrument voltage transformers ЗНМИ are three-phase antiresonance indoor installation transformers to be connected into the isolated or compensated network 6 kV and 10 kV.

The transformer is the active part placed into the transformer tank filled in with transformer oil.

Active part consists of two magnetic cores with winding connected via series of different assembly parts into one uniform design. Upper magnetic core consists of two armored cores. Each core has primary winding connected to line-to-line voltage, main and auxiliary windings.

Bottom magnetic core consists of one core. The core has primary winding connected to phase-to-earth voltage, main and auxiliary windings.

Magnetic core has non-magnetic pits which essentially eliminated ferro-resonance.

Auxiliary winding is connected via open-delta circuit. Primary windings are cross-over section windings.

Voltage transformer insulation is made of isolating transformer paper produced under high vacuum and transformer oil impregnated.

Magnetic cores are made of electric steel.

Transformer tank is steel-fabricated. Its bottom part has oil-drain tube. Pressure-vacuum vent valve, rating plate, primary windings’ entrance insulators and secondary windings’ lead terminals are located on the top-cover.

Our experience using voltage transformers ЗНМИ in packaged switchgears produced by our plant and in other electrical installations is the evidence of their high reliability and operational performance consistency.

Voltage transformers ЗНОМ and ЗНОМП

Voltage transformers ZNOM and ZNOMP

Instrument voltage transformers (ЗНОМ-27 and ЗНОМП-40,5) are meant for the network of 27 kV and 35 kV.

Outdoor single-phase oil-filled voltage transformers series ЗНОМ-27 and ЗНОМП-40,5 are equipped with electric steel imbricated core bearing secondary and primary multi-layer cylindrical winding made of thin copper round-in-section wire.

Active part is placed into the cabinet where the secondary leads’ box, earth box, rating plate, mounting holes for basement or support are installed.

Voltage transformers’ insulation is manufactured out of vacuum dried and transformer-oil impregnated isolating transformer paper.

Winding high voltage drain-off comes through porcelain mantle filled in with transformer oil. Oil conservator with hermetic seals is located on the top of the porcelain mantle.

Low-oil-content design of voltage transformers avoids the necessity for transformer oil parameters testing within the whole operation lifetime in case its high specification is preserved.

ЗНОМП-40,5 provides for electrical power metering with accuracy class 0,2.

Voltage transformers ЗНОМ-27 and ЗНОМП-40,5 provide for reliable and stable operation within the whole permissible operation temperatures’ range, climatic and mechanical loads as well as in the polluted environment with the specific creepage distance 2,95 and 2,25 cm/kV accordingly.

Voltage transformers series НКФ and НКФ-M

Voltage transformers series NKF and NKF-M

Instrument voltage transformers series НКФ and НКФ-M are outdoor single-phase inductive oil-filled transformers with porcelain mantle meant for the connection to the network with rated voltage of 66 kV up to 500 kV.

Single-pack voltage transformers are made in accordance with cascade circuit for voltage rating of 66, 110 and 132 kV. Double-pack voltage transformers are made for voltage rating of 150, 220 and 330 kV. And three-pack voltage transformers are made for voltage rating of 400 kV and 500 kV.

Each transformer block has its active part and windings with electrostatic screens. The active part is placed into the porcelain mantle filled in with transformer oil.

The base is the transformer support (transformer block) which carries the active part and porcelain mantle. The base is equipped with oil-drain tube, secondary leads’ box, cable coupling sleeve, earth box and rating plate.

Magnetic core is made of anisotropic cold-rolled electrotechnical steel sheets.

Windings are of cylindrical multilayer design.

Voltage transformer insulation is made of isolating transformer paper produced under high vacuum and transformer oil impregnated.

Semiconducting screens installed on the windings and magnetic cores provide for voltage transformers’ withstandability enhancement against impact atmospheric voltage and decrease partial discharge factor.

Voltage transformers series НКФА

Voltage transformers series NKFA

Instrument voltage transformers series НКФА are single-phase electromagnetic oil-filled four-coil antiresonance outdoor transformers meant for the large-scale transformation of AC potential difference with frequency 50 Hz or 60 Hz in order to measure it further and forward to the inputs of Instruments, protection and alarm devices.

Voltage transformers series НКФА are manufactured for voltage ratings from 110 kV up to 500 kV.

The key differences of voltage transformers series НКФА as compared to voltage transformers series НКФ and НКФ-M are the following:

  • stability to ferroresonance;
  • availability of 3 secondary windings (НКФ and НКФ-M have two secondary windings).

Voltage transformers series НКФА are manufactured both sealed and unsealed (sealing is assured via compensator).

Voltage transformers series ЕТН

Voltage transformers series ETN

Instrument voltage transformers series ЕТН are the capacitive single-phase oil-filled four-core antiresonance outdoor transformers meant for the installation in AC electrical networks frequency 50 Hz with grounded neutral in order to transfer measurement data signal to measuring, protection, automation, alarm and control devices, and also to assure top-quality connection.

Voltage transformers series ЕТН feature anti-ferroresonance properties. They feature capacitor and electromagnetic units’ unified design.

Voltage transformers series ЕТН are manufactured for voltage ratings from 110 kV up to 500 kV.

Voltage transformers series ЕТН are of leaktight design.

The availability of the outputs for high-frequency devices connection is the key difference of voltage transformers series ETN as compared to voltage transformers series НКФ, НКФ-M, НКФА.


All transformers series НКФ, НКФ-М, НКФА, ЕТН are interchangeable as per setting dimensions. Main secondary winding of these transformers can be sealed (electricity metering) under the operating conditions to assure protection against unauthorized access.
